Explore India’s musical culture as The Spirit of India transcends at Wortham Theater Center’s Cullen Theater on Thursday, October 22, 2015.

The Bollywood Masala Orchestra and Dancers of India make their Houston debut with The Spirit of India, a performance that will take you on a lively musical journey from Rajasthan to Mumbai.

With 17 professional artists onstage, visitors will experience the soul of a veritable feast of Indian sounds, featuring a mix of Indian and Western instruments such as bass drums, side drums, trombone, tabla, dholak, harmonium and clarinet. This musical extravaganza combines traditional and contemporary music with mesmerizing rhythms and colorful costumes for a show that characterizes the India of today.

Founded by artistic director Rahis Bharti, the Bollywood Masala Orchestra and Dancers of India will give you an authentic taste of the richness and excitement of Indian music when they fill Wortham Center’s Cullen Theater with The Spirit of India.
