
National Egg Day (yes, there is a day devoted to yolky goodness) lands on Wednesday, June 3, 2015. Take a bite out of the unofficial holiday with great tastes around Houston.
- The Homeroom at Bernie’s Burger Bus – Chef Justin Turner’s Homeroom is a cheddar cheeseburger topped with crispy bacon, “tipsy” onions, chipotle aioli and a fried egg. Available at the Bellaire restaurant and both the yellow buses (locations schedule on website).
- Brisket n’ Eggs at Dish Society – Barbecue is always good, but add an egg (or two) for a next-level start to your day. Dish Society’s Brisket ’N Eggs features Texas grass-fed brisket, two open-range sunny side eggs, smoked gouda grits, tomatillo relish and a house buttermilk biscuit. Available daily for breakfast and weekends for brunch at both Galleria area and Katy locations.
- Enchiladas de Tejas at Molina’s Cantina – On the menu since 1941, this classic Tex-Mex preparation of cheese enchiladas topped with chili con carne, melted cheese and chopped onions is offered with the genius addition of a fried egg on top. Available at all three locations on Bellaire, Washington and Westheimer.
- Mediterranean Breakfast at Roost – The Montrose eatery touts a Lebanese yogurt dip, garbanzo and mint salad, toasted pita, and poached egg for just $10.
- Thai Muu Noodles at Lillo & Ella – Chef Kevin Naderi’s Asian concept features tasty Thai Muu Noodles with ground pork, Asian long beans and garlic, all topped with a fried egg naturally.
