Celebrate the opening of Johnny Steele Dog Park, the first official dog park on Buffalo Bayou, with your favorite canine(s).
Johnny Steele Dog Park will open its gates to the public during an afternoon event filled with drool-worthy activities including a kissing booth, dog adoptions and a pet & owner look-alike contest.
A slew of vendors will be at the opening to pamper, groom and accessorize your pet with nail trims, premium pet food and lots of treats.
Afraid the polar vortex might keep you from attending? Katz Coffee will have hot cocoa and coffee to keep you warm, and Good Dog Hot Dog will keep your belly full with some of the best franks in town.
The two-acre park, which will be open from 7am to 8pm daily, includes ponds for both large and small dogs, pup-friendly water fountains, shade structures for sweltering summer days and a washing station for the rainy aka muddy ones.
