Show your support for the Houston Fire Department and nonprofit Firefighters Helping Firefighters at the Val Jahnke Training Facility at the free Houston Fire Fest on Saturday, October 4, 2014 from 10am to 5pm.

Now in its tenth year, the Houston Fire Fest is an event aimed at educating the community on fire safety and the history of the Fire Department.

Activities include fire demonstrations and a woodshop class put on by the Home Depot. With everything from antique fire trucks and cars on display to silent auctions and food trucks to bouncy houses, this all-day event will be fun for the whole family.

Registration for the 10th Annual BBQ Cook-Off, which is traditionally only open to teams with at least one Firefighter, is now open to the public.
