Put your feet up in Houston’s most modern hotel at the Royal Sonesta Hotel Houston, fresh on the heels of its $25 million renovation.

With a fresh glean following its recent head-to-toe renovation, the Royal Sonesta Hotel Houston stands out as one of the premiere destination hotels in Uptown and all of Houston proper. The 485 crisply-appointed and ultra-modern guest rooms, club rooms and suites in this 23-story modern hotel offer stunning views of Downtown, the Medical District and Uptown itself.

Guests enjoy the convenient access to the Galleria and neighboring shopping, dining and entertainment options, as well as to Houston’s beloved Memorial Park, with its running trail, golf course and driving range, and the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center.

Fine Food and Drink

The full-service ARA Restaurant offers refined international dining in a luxurious atmosphere, with hardwood floors, leather banquette seating and vibrant splashes of color. Guests may also reserve a private Chef’s table, known as Table One, which includes a personal interaction with the executive chef.

Just off the lobby, the warm, open and modern Axis Lounge showcases more then 200 spirits, including fine tequilas and whiskies, more than 40 varieties of vodka, a selection of martinis, custom-created drink recipes and more. Serving as the hotel’s living room, Axis Lounge takes its name from the Royal Sonesta’s location at the central axis of greater Houston (a vast West Houston means that Downtown is actually on the eastern periphery for many Houstonians).

Rooftop Pool

Located on the roof of the fifth floor, the recently restyled pool has claimed urban resort status, with modern poolside furniture, sleek surfaces and textures, and an adjacent modern fitness center.

2013 Renovation

The Royal Sonesta’s extensive renovation in the second half of 2013 brought a modern international style and sensibility unmatched in other Houston hotels. Led by design firm Looney & Associates, the new space is intended to reflect the principles that made Houston a leader in energy, medicine and space exploration.

Significant enhancements were made to all guest rooms, the food and drink establishments, swimming pool, fitness center, lobby, meeting space and more.
