Revel at the Houston Brazilian Festival 2013


Celebrate all things Brazil at this all ages festival at Jones Hall Plaza in Downtown on Saturday, September 7, 2013 from 2pm to 10pm.

Dance to the Brazilian rhythms of local and international Brazilian performers, including samba, percussion, pagode and other Brazilian styles.

The dedicated kids area will feature face painting, balloon art and a moonwalk (each one priced at $1 per kid), as well as a free coloring station and change to play with Brazilian musical instruments. Children ages 10 and under are admitted free.

Enjoy live music and dance performances from new Houston samba reggae percussion band Batalá Houston, the Brazilian fusion band Eta Carinae of Fortaleza, the local samba and pagode band Samba Soul, Silva Dance Company of New York City and Capoeira Luanda Houston, Brazilian rhythm band Bombrasil, and Trio Baru of Brasilia.

Tuscanos Brazilian Grille, Central Market and Cater Brazil will be offering a bevy of Brazialian plates, dishes and delicacies for sale. And a selection of beers, including Bud-ritas, will be available from Budweiser.

  • Admission: $8 pre-sale tickets available online until midnight of Thursday, September 5. $10 at the door for ages 11 and up. Children 10 and under are admitted free with guardians.
