Catch up on your Rent

See Houston’s Eklektix Theatre Company’s new production of the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winning Rent at the Frenetic Theatre the weekends of Friday, August 2 and Friday, August 9, 2013.

Premiering on Broadway in 1996, the modern rock musical Rent helped define the 90s, while telling the story of a year in the life of young artists and musicians living in New York City’s East Village. Rent is about falling in love, finding your voice and living for today and notable for taking on the threat and impact of HIV/AIDS.

The musical is perhaps best known for the song “Seasons of Love,” with its often referenced chorus of “Five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes” which itself refers to the number of minutes in a (non-leap) year.
