Escape the sweltering heat and find your oasis on the Ice at the Galleria.

Seek shelter from the summer heat at the famous Ice at the Galleria, rated one of the top ten places to skate in the US. The ice rink is a great place to keep cool while the kids perfect their figure eights with skating lessons or learn the basics of hockey. If you have several hours to kill at the Galleria, you can sign up your kids for a day summer camp. If your kids are over 12 and have extra energy to burn to at night, bring them to the drop in broom ball games on Thursday nights at 10:15pm. Join in if you have the energy!

The ice rink is open to newbies, families, and experienced skaters all year round. The seasonal prices vary and are currently listed at $9 for admission and $4 for skate rentals. Socks are available for $3 if you leave yours at home.

Generally, the rink tends to be less crowded during the summer months and this can be a great time for new skaters to brave the slick stuff. The winter season can be a bit more crowded and ticket prices are usually increased, but it’s worth it to get that holiday feeling with the huge tree lit up with sparkly lights.

Skate to the tunes during the DJ Ice Jams on Friday and Saturday nights. For a change from the usual routine, bring your family for dinner at one of the Galleria’s many eateries and then skate to the music until bedtime.
