  • Passing Strange at Obsidian Theater | Thursday to Saturday See this Tony award-winning rock musical about a young black man who goes on a journey to find out who he his. Tickets start at $27.50, not including ticket fees. 8pm nightly.
  • Small Jokes about Monsters at the Docks | Thursday and Saturday Landing Theatre Company presents this story of family secrets following the death of its patriarch. Intended for mature audiences. Tickets are pay-what-you-can. 8pm both nights.
  • Core Dance presents Life Interrupted at Asia Society Texas Center | Friday and Saturday – The award-winning performance company Core Dance presents a program of contemporary dance, art, and music inspired by the experiences of U.S. citizens of Japanese descent. The show, titled Life Interrupted, will play twice at Asia Society over the weekend. Tickets start at $10. Friday 8pm to 9:30pm; Saturday 7pm to 9pm.
  • Sports Illustrated Vibes Festival at Post HTX | Friday and Saturday Meet the 2017 Sports Illustrated swimsuit models and get an autograph while feasting on food from chefs like Chris Shepherd and Seth Siegel Gardner and enjoying live performances from Diplo, DJ Mel, Wrestlers and more. Tickets start at $35, not including ticket fees.
  • 2017 Texas Christian Film Festival at Bethany Christian Church | Friday and Saturday – This two-day event features three full-length film screenings, an international short film competition, an art exhibit and a faith-in-action expo. The event is free with a pass. Friday 6pm; Saturday 2:30pm.
  • Gabriel Iglesias Live at NRG | Friday to Sunday – Laugh through one actor and stand-up comedian Gabriel Iglesias’ shows when his tour comes to Houston for three nights at NRG. Tickets start at $55, but you may find cheaper or better seats on TicketNetwork’s resale site. Friday 8pm; Saturday and Sunday 7:30pm.
  • Texas Home & Garden Show at NRG | Friday to Sunday Find everything you need for your home – inside and out – at the Texas Home and Garden Show featuring products, home improvement experts, and inspiration. Tickets start at $8, not including ticket fees. Friday 2pm to 7pm; Saturday 10am to 7pm; Sunday 11am to 5pm.
  • Mardi Gras Parties in Galveston | Friday to Sunday – Let the good times roll in Galveston during Mardi Gras by running in the Jester Jolly Jaunt, attending one of the many parades, enjoying live entertainment and more all weekend long. Times, prices and locations vary.
