  • Home School Day at the Children’s Museum of Houston | Monday, September 21 | FREE – The Children’s Museum of Houston is opening its doors exclusively to families that home school their children for a day of non-stop fun in the museum’s 14 galleries. 10am to 2pm.
  • Grand Tasting at The Wynden | Monday, September 21 – Join Women of Wine Charities for their annual Grand Tasting event at The Wynden. Sip on fine wines, nosh on bites from local chefs like Monica Pope, Sylvia Casares and Randy Rucker, bid on live and silent auction items and more during this event that benefits HAWC. $125; $100 for members. 6pm to 9pm.
  • Nick Jonas in Concert at House of Blues | Tuesday, September 22 – Sing along to hits like “Jealous,” “Chains” and “Levels” when pop singer Nick Jonas rolls through Houston and takes the stage at House of Blues. Tickets start at $40.33 including ticket fees, but you may find cheaper or better seats on the TicketNetwork resale site. 7:30pm.
  • Domaine Rouge Bleu Wine Dinner at Bistro Provence | Tuesday, September 22 – Enjoy a five-course menu of food along with wine pairings from Provence during this dinner at Bistro Provence. $65. 7pm.
  • Lunch & Learn at Define Body & Mind | Wednesday, September 23 | FREE – Nom on a lunch prepared by Define Foods while learning about Define’s self-enrichment program – a 12-week series of curriculum that focuses on body, mind and revolution that will launch on September 30. Noon to 1pm.
  • See Irreplaceable Places with Heritage Society in Woodland Heights | Wednesday, September 23 – Enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres while touring 1910 Prairie – an irreplaceable home in Woodland Heights – during the second event of the Heritage Society SIP Series. $75. 6pm to 8pm.
  • Houston Chronicle’s Culinary Stars at Hilton Americas | Wednesday, September 23 – Delight in a savory evening featuring iconic dishes and wine pairings from Houston’s top rated restaurants during the Houston Chronicle’s Culinary Starts at the Hilton Americas. The Chronicle’s very own Restaurant Critic Alison Cook will join the crowd in a discussion over the city’s diverse dining scenes. $100. 6:30pm to 9pm.
  • Houston Dynamo vs. Sporting Kansas City at BBVA Compass Stadium | Wednesday, September 23 Cheer on the Dynamo as they play Sporting from Kansas City in a home game at BBVA Compass Stadium. Tickets start at $24. 7:15pm.
  • O Columbia World Premiere at Revention Music Center | Wednesday, September 23 and Thursday, September 24 – See the world premiere of Houston Grand Opera’s O Columbia – a new chamber opera that celebrates exploration and the discovery of new frontiers, and is inspired by the Columbia space shuttle. $20 including ticket fees. 8pm both nights.
  • Galveston Island Wild Texas Shrimp Festival | Friday, September 25 to Sunday, September 27 – Chow down on wild shrimp during this festival in Galveston. Sample creations from the Cookoff during the Gumbo Stroll, race in the 5k Fun Run, check out boats in the Outdoor Show, watch the Lil’ Shrimps Parade and more. Events range from free to $50. 5pm to 10pm Friday; 9am to 6pm Saturday; 10am to 5pm Sunday.
  • Houston Astros vs. Texas Rangers at Minute Maid Park | Friday, September 25 to Sunday, September 26 – Cheer the ‘Stros to a victory over the Rangers during a three game series at Minute Maid Park. Tickets start at $10, but you may find cheaper or better seats on the TicketNetwork resale site. 7:10pm Friday; 6:10pm Saturday; 1:10pm Sunday.
  • The Museum Experience Zone 4 in the Museum District | Saturday, September 26 – Explore the Children’s Museum, Houston Zoo, HMNS, Rice Gallery, Hermann Park, Health Museum and Miller Outdoor Theatre while enjoying arts and crafts, games and activities, train rides, current exhibitions, a salsa festival and more during The Museum Experience. Prices vary. 9am.
  • Oktoberfest Houston 2015 | Saturday, September 26 – Put on your lederhosen or dirndl and raise a stein at Oktoberfest Houston. This annual event features live music, food, fun and lots of beer. $30; $25 for designated driver; $80 VIP; free for children 15 and under. Prices increase $10 ($20 VIP) at the gate. Noon.
  • Blue Cure Night Run in Downtown Houston | Saturday, September 26 – Race through downtown Houston and/or join in a massive outdoor Zumba class at the Blue Cure Night Run, raising funds and awareness for prostate cancer prevention. The 5k starts at Sam Houston Park, travels up Allen Parkway and back and ends at an electric blue City Hall. $35; $20 for children 17 and under; $20 for post-race Zumba. 6pm to 10pm.
  • Houston Texans vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers at NRG | Sunday, September 27 – Returning from Charlotte, North Carolina, the Texans will face off with the Buccaneers from Tampa Bay at NRG Stadium. Tickets range from $55 to $410, but you may find cheaper or better seats on TicketNetwork’s resale site. Noon. Friday; 1:30pm and 7:30pm Saturday.
