Get your child into the world of culinary arts early during a Kids’ Ice Cream Making Class with Chef Omar Pereney at the soon-to-open Peska Seafood Culture on Saturday, March 28, 2015 from 2pm to 3:30pm.

We all scream for ice cream – especially when it’s made by one of the youngest notable chefs in Houston’s rapidly restaurant scene, Omar Pereney.

The 20-year-old chef recently relocated from Mexico City for a position at Peska Seafood Culture, a brand new fresh seafood restaurant opening this spring in Uptown.  will lead an ice cream making class for kids at the restaurant on March 28.

Pereney – who has taught popular children’s cooking classes in Mexico City and is always a hit with kids – will teach the youngsters how to make ice cream, ending with a lesson on how to create the perfect sundae.

Designed for children aged 8 to 12, this class is limited to just 12 spots. Tickets will go quickly, so hurry and save your child a seat here.

Originally from Venezuela, Pereney began cooking professionally at the age of 12, earning the title of chef instructor of American Cuisine at Le Cordon Bleu Mexico at the age of 18. He resided in Mexico City where he served as a consulting chef for the La Trainera group. In December 2014, Pereney moved to Houston to be the Executive Chef at La Trainera’s latest eatery, Peska Seafood Culture. He has trained under several of South America’s top chefs and is himself a charmingly informative teacher.
