Experience the flavors of authentic Korean cuisine in an incomparably crisp and modern space at Nara’s Korean Grill Room.

Located inside the upscale Nara restaurant at West Ave, Chef Donald Chang’s new Korean Grill Room offers unique communal dining that marries an authentic Korean grilling experience with premium cuts of meat such as American Kobe beef and Kurobuta pork. Tying it all together is an airy, upscale room that – perhaps most intriguingly – was designed to dramatically minimize the smoke typically associated with traditional Korean barbecue.

“We really wanted to make sure to keep the smoke level down because in the traditional Korean setting, you smell like what you eat,” said Chef Chang. “People’s biggest complaint about Korean BBQ is that they love the food, they just don’t like the fact that it follows them home.”

These delicious grilled meats are complemented with side dishes (banchan) and marinades from family recipes known only by Chang’s mother, Kyong Ja Chang, and his sister, Head Kitchen Chef Esther Cho.

The semi-private dining room is set in the back of Nara and seats 16 people (or up to 24 for private parties) around three connected wooden tables with built-in yakiniku grills.
