Opa! This weekend brings Houston Greek Fest 2013 to St. Basil’s near Eldridge Park, with Greek dancing, celebrations and plenty of terrific Greek food from Thursday to Sunday, May 16 to 19, 2013.

Experience authentic Greek cuisine, live dancers, an outdoor marketplace, and plenty of family-friendly activities as the 19th annual Houston Greek Fest transforms the grounds of St. Basil the Great Orthodox Church into a Greek party and marketplace.

On Sunday afternoon at 2pm, there will be a gyro eating contest sponsored by Niko Niko’s. Last year’s champion, who ate 21 gyros in ten minutes, will be on hand to defend his title.

Admission to the Houston Greek Fest 2013 is just $3 for most people and everyone can get in free on Friday before 2pm or at any time if they print out and bring this flier from the Houston Greek Fest’s Facebook page. All money raised goes to support St. Basil the Great Orthodox Church.

Beer and Greek wine will be available for purchase.
